Bolivar

Bolívar was founded by José F. Rocha from 1901 to 1902, though the brand was not registered in Havana (Cuba) until 1921, under the ownership of Rocha’s firm, J.F. Rocha y Cia.

During this time, the Bolívar brand produced the world’s smallest cigar called the Delgado. Measuring a mere 17⁄8 inches with a 20-ring gauge, the Delgado had the honour of having a miniature box of its cigars featured in the royal nursery’s dollhouse at Windsor Castle.

Now, Bolívar has a reputation among cigar aficionados for being one of the strongest and most full-bodied cigars, with its Royal Corona, Coronas Junior, Petit Coronas, and Belicosos Finos being famous examples of the marque.

Founded in 1902, Bolívar Cigars are named after Simón Bolívar, the great liberator of South America. Fittingly, they are among the most powerful and full-bodied of all Cuban cigars, famous for their bold flavour and uncompromising strength.

Iconic vitolas such as the Bolívar Belicosos Finos, Royal Coronas, and Petit Coronas deliver rich notes of earth, spice, and dark chocolate. Consistently well-constructed, Bolívar is a brand favoured by seasoned aficionados who appreciate robust, complex smokes.

At 1865 Cigars, our Bolívar range offers the very best of Cuban intensity—ideal for those who enjoy cigars with commanding character.
