Clan pipe tobacco is a long-established aromatic blend, first introduced in the 1950s, noted for its complexity and distinctive room note. It is presently produced in Denmark by the Scandinavian Tobacco Group.

Clan is a mixture made from as many as 14 different tobaccos sourced worldwide, including Virginia, Burley, Kentucky, Cavendish, Black Cavendish, Oriental/Turkish varieties, Perique, and Maryland leaf.

The blend is mild and gently sweet, often described as having floral and whiskey-like topping notes. Its flavour is subtle and elusive, frequently revealing different nuances throughout the smoke.

A fine, ready-rubbed mixture—also called a rough or fine-cut shag—Clan is straightforward to pack and lights easily for immediate smoking. Burns cool and slowly, it delivers a pleasant room note and suits both experienced pipe smokers and newcomers.
